Our world has lost a tremendous mind, a gargantuan talent, and a wonderful man. Robert Rauschenberg passed on last night at the young age of 82. Rauschenberg was one of the most influential American artists of our life time. His pioneering of assemblage and juxtaposition of images created a window of enlightenment through which many inspired by him have passed.
He was a very generous and kind sprit who continuously gave of his time, art and money to many charities involving children, human rights and women’s issues. Rauschenberg and I both are represented by Alan Avery Art Company in Atlanta, GA… and it is an honor beyond words to share gallery walls with him.
Robert, may your wings of light set you free and take you to levels of understanding and manifestation that was your quest while on this physical plane. From myself and my boys, our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
